On the first day of the participation at the International Fair of Environmental Protection Ecofair the company Energo Zelena was presented at the conference “Belgian technology in renewable energy - potential cooperation in Serbia” organized by the Belgian Serbian Business Association.

The conference was opened by His Excellency Belgian Ambassador in Serbia, Mr. Alain Kundycki, who said that Belgium is one of the leaders in the field of renewable energy sources in Europe:
It is extremely important for Serbia to develop projects in the field of renewable energy. Presence of Belgian companies is very important. One of the most important Belgian investments is the company Energo Zelena in Indjija as a good example of using Belgian tehnology in Serbia. Besides the economic one, this project is very important for the environmental aspect – says the Belgian Ambassador.
General Manager of Energo Zelena Kurt Derieuw says he is very proud of the project in Indjija because it is the first rendering plant in Serbia and in whole region which is made entirely in accordance with the highest standards of Serbia and European Union:
We have invested more than 21 million EUR, we have equipped the factory with the latest technology. Unfortunatelly, a lot of the animal waste in Serbia is not treated in a legal way – it ends up in ground or in the water. Therefore, we need a stronger activity of the veterinary inspection, as well as the raising of awareness about the diseases that comes out from the waste. This is one of the important activities of Serbia towards EU, and it is certain that Energo Zelena is a proof that Serbia has introduced European standards - said Derieuw.
Gilbert Delva, BSBA representative pointed out that the existence of this organization is very important and that these joint activities should be practiced more often in the future.
